The Department of Education at ULM believes in transforming people and communities through quality education by working as a system. The system approach will be based on collaborations within the department of education, across the university community, schools and colleges of the area, offices of Education, and the outer community at large, as its essential elements. The vision of the Department of Education will be represented through its three pillars and several lead goals for the undergraduate and graduate programs.
Faculty: Our faculty will represent professionalism, lifelong learning, and innovation. They will be technologically adept and embodiments of modern practices of teaching based on adult learning principles. Moreover, they will be leaders, mentors, reflective professionals, and change agents.
Environment: The department is committed to represent a welcoming environment which is physically and emotionally safe for every student, especially for women which is a highly deprived section of our society.
Programs: The programs offered by the department are constructed based on knowledge supported by research and international trends incorporating HEC guidelines. The programs are student centered, engaging students’ minds and developing critical thinking as well as providing meaningful opportunities within classes and field opportunities to apply theory into practice. Moreover, the delivery of programs is based on adult learning principles.
