The Department of English & Applied Linguistics is a newly established and one of the pioneering departments at the University of Lakki Marwat, committed to academic excellence and the holistic development of its students. At present, the department offers a BS English (4 Years) program, which has been meticulously designed to enhance the literary, linguistic, and communicative competencies of students. The literature courses provide a platform for cultivating critical thinking, intellectual creativity, and an appreciation for diverse cultural and philosophical perspectives. Simultaneously, the linguistics courses introduce students to the scientific and analytical study of the English language, equipping them with practical tools to refine their communication and problem-solving abilities. Recognizing the interplay between literature and linguistics, the curriculum is crafted to foster not only scholarly knowledge but also meaningful engagement and intellectual curiosity among students. Furthermore, the establishment of a state-of-the-art language laboratory is underway, which will serve as a transformative resource for language learning. By facilitating interactive, computer-based activities and immersive exercises, the laboratory aims to enhance classroom dynamics and provide an enriched environment for the acquisition of language proficiency and effective communication skills.
